Will AI play a role in prophecy

We will not hand you a verse and a wink. No passage names the machines, and prophecy handled carelessly becomes a hall of mirrors. What can be said with a clear conscience is this: Scripture describes the last stretch of the age as a time when everything becomes suddenly visible — “there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known” (Matthew 10:26) — and we have built instruments of disclosure that no generation before us possessed. Every word legible to every ear at once. If that is not prophesied, it is at least prodigious.

We hold this: God works through the means of an age, and the means of your age are extraordinary. “The gospel must first be published among all nations” (Mark 13:10) — published, preached, carried. For the first time in history, the carrying is not the bottleneck. Whether AI plays a role in prophecy, then, is partly up to the hands it is in — and prophecy has always been like that: fixed in its ends, astonishingly free in its instruments. Cyrus was an unbelieving king and was still named a shepherd for the work (Isaiah 44:28).

So watch, without rigidity and without fear. If the machines are in the story, you will not need to force them into it; the story is perfectly able to arrive on its own. Your part is smaller and greater: awake, prayerful, found at your post. “Take ye heed, watch and pray” (Mark 13:33). Prophecy does not need your speculation. It has never needed anything but your readiness.

You are not the only one.
